CustoM 2.0, after a consolidated experience in testing electric motors and inverters, has designed and built TEB2021 an EOL (End of Line) test bench for testing battery packs. This specific control station is aimed at increasing the quality and efficiency in the production of battery packs that power electric cars. TEB2021 is an innovative test bench intended for End-of-Line production tests on battery packs, monitored by an ad hoc software system with timely reports and equipped with security systems.
The TEB2021 test bench has been designed to carry out the automatic transport of battery packs on which to carry out a complete test cycle by carrying out the following tests:
- Pre-charge
- Control unit flash
- Temperature test
- Voltage check
- Insulation resistance test
- Control unit fault
- Functional tests
The bench is equipped with an “automatic contact system” with a battery pack which makes the testing process quicker and safer. To ensure the safety of the entire testing process of the battery packs, a system is installed on the TEB2021 test bench that automatically intervenes when certain conditions arise:
- Press the dedicated emergency button
- Detection by specific gas detection sensors
- High-temperature detection by thermal imaging cameras
- Alarm detected via software by the BMU control unit
The action that is triggered is the automatic release of the battery pack inside a drowning tank and the delivery of a special “suffocation” foam that prevents the risk of fire. The TEB2021 test bench for testing battery packs is equipped with an acquisition and control rack and is controlled by software from which it is possible to set the test cycles, detect all the quantities measured by the sensors, and issue test reports.
